I have absolutely no doubt that there's a few hardcore rug munchers who could cut the mustard. Not many granted, but a few for sure and if that's what they want to do and they are good enough to make the grade, good luck to them.

Fine with that as long as they pass exactly the same tests.

Its rarely the biggest that's the hardest.

I don't know if I'd be keen, personally. Sort of thing that could ruin a manicure and I don't think you'd be guaranteed adequate lavatory and bathing facilities under combat conditions.

Fine line between bravery and stupidity but yeah good luck to the few that get there.

It’s not a case of passing or failing! I don’t see ANY benefits or advantages that women will bring being in the SAS or SBS... All I see is exceptions and special allowances which will only weaken a force! That’s my opinion... Prove me wrong!

Re: Women can now join the SAS
Well good luck to them if they can get in, as long as the same entry criteria etc applies.

Just hope the military doesn't bow to this current craze of proportional representation and we get token woman, transgenders and others in the elite forces to keep the quotas up.

Re: Women can now join the SAS
Well they let Norman join the infantry.

Good for infiltration missions, obviously difficult to recruit by keeping it a secret, its a shame as a secret highly trained Female unit could have a purpose and be handy if the other side was not aware or expecting to be wiped out or snooped on by women.

For what it is worth, I highly rate Mossad and they have a high number of Women in their ranks.

But I can not see it working in field conditions, for example interrogation training Men are stripped ,stress positions etc. The selection training process would have to be adapted and I am against this. Not sexist but why change what works and one of the finest Elite regiments in the World.

But an undercover highly trained unit of females could work just not under the SAS prestige.

Re: Women can now join the SAS
Not bothered as long as the rigorous training regimes are not compromised or watered down, I like to think any female recruit with her salt would see that as an insult anyway.
